Short Description

The Montgomery County Council unanimously passed a Trust Act that, among other changes, prevents the county from entering into formal 287(g) agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which would deputize local officers to perform federal immigration enforcement functions. Maryland enacted a similar statewide ban on 287(g) participation the same month.
