During Operation Midway Blitz, in which thousands of federal agents targeted the greater Chicago area to conduct immigration enforcement activity, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker issued an executive order establishing the Illinois Accountability Commission. The Commission was tasked with investigating and documenting alleged civil rights abuses relating to federal immigration enforcement operations during this time and recommending actions to hold the government accountable.
