AB 4 is chiefly a criminal-justice package, reviving a Las Vegas Strip ‘Resort Corridor Court,’ for harsher burglary/DUI penalties, that Democrats amended to add immigration guardrails: school employees are barred from allowing immigration enforcement officers onto campus or disclosing a student’s information without a warrant, and detention facilities must publicly report certain information. The immigration language revived a provision from AB 217, a standalone 2025 bill with similar school protections that Gov. Lombardo had previously vetoed; several Democrats voted against the final bill, citing insufficient immigrant protections.
