Short Description

The Village of Scarsdale formally terminated its contract with Flock Safety, ending plans for a public-safety system of automated license plate readers, live-view cameras, and drone-as-first-responder technology. The decision followed a petition signed by more than 450 residents and concerns about warrantless mass surveillance, including reports of ICE accessing ALPR data in Westchester County. No money had been spent and no equipment deployed.
