The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution affirming that ICE officers may not enter, remain in, or conduct civil immigration enforcement within any county-owned, leased, or operated building, facility, or property (including parking areas) unless required by law or pursuant to a valid judicial warrant or court order, making it the first Michigan county to do so. The resolution encouraged other municipalities and entities to adopt similar policies.
