AG Letitia James and Gov. Kathy Hochul launched the Office of Immigrant Trust, a statewide bureau within the AG’s office to investigate unlawful collaboration between state/local government employees and federal immigration enforcement. Its first enforcement action directed 12 local agencies with existing 287(g) agreements to unwind them by August 25, 2026.
