Short Description

In response to reports of an increase of federal immigration agents heading to Chicago, Chicago Public Schools published a resource guide of tips to helps students and families prepare for a larger federal agent presence in the city. It includes KYRs, tips for traveling around the city, resources, and CPS protocols.

Chicago Public Schools expanded on this resource with a Student and Family Resource packet, initially published in October 2025 and updated multiple times in the following months. The expanded resource includes guidance on emergency family planning, information on upcoming trainings and workshops, and additional resources.
