Short Description
The City Council secured roughly $74.7 million for immigration legal services and rapid response in the adopted FY2026 budget (about a $50 million increase), including approximately $33.2 million for legal services for low-income immigrants, $24.6 million for the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project (representation for detained individuals), $16.5 million for unaccompanied minors and adults with children, and continued funding for the Rapid Response Legal Collaborative.
