Short Description
The Fairbanks School Board approved a resolution that affirms the school district’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students regardless of immigration status. As part of this resolution, the board established that district employees should not allow access or provide records or private information on any student, family, or eployee to any non-emergency law enforcment, including ICE, unless a valid warrant is presented and the superintendent or assistance superintendent approves. The district also committed to ensuring all staff are aware of district policies and their legal obligations with regards to law enforcement access.
