Short Description

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy signed Executive Order 650 that: (1) Prohibits states from entering into new 287(g) agreements unless there is a public safety need (2) Prohibits civil arrests by ICE in non-public areas of state facilities (3) Prohibits the use of state property for immigration enforcement staging and (4) Directs the Education and Health and Human Services Executive Offices to work with public and private entities that provide services to the public to ensure they have guidance and policies in place for staff interacting with federal immigration officers and for limiting these offices from entering nonpublic areas without a judicial order or warrant
