Short Description
The Phoenix City Council approved the creation of a Community Transparency Initiative, which includes the following
(1) Directs the Police, Fire and Community Assistance Program and the Office of Accountability and Transparency to track staff time, call responses, and city resources used in relation to federal enforcement actions impacting city operations, and track impacts on small business and the local economy;
(2) Launch a Know Your Rights webpage for city residents with multilingual resources and expand multilingual city communication
(3) Train all city staff who many encounter federal officers in city property on how to respond to immigration enforcement activity
The city also created a federal enforcement complaint reporting portal, for community members who beleive federal agents potentially acted outside the law or violated civil rights.
