The Wilmington City Council unanimously passed a resolution urging the city’s administration, including all city agencies, departments, and affiliates, to review potential and existing contracts and avoid or terminate those with companies that are involved in immigration enforcement or deportation efforts. The resolution lists Avelo Airlines, which the city formerly partnered with, as an example of such a company. The resolution also encourages other municipalities to adopt similar measures.
