Baraka of Newark, NJ signed an executive order that restricts Immigration and Customs Enforcement from using city-owned property, facilities, or resources for civil immigration enforcement actions. It also prohibits ICE agents from entering city buildings without a legitimate government purpose or judicial warrants. The order also requires city employees to report any potential unconstitutional wrongdoings by ICE agents that they witness within city limits to their department director.
